Chapter 8 - Gen 2 - Blake

The baby arrived during Poppy and Petals birthday party, much to my surprise and most of the guests.  Mom and Dad were round the side of the house having yet another one of thier arguments, probably loud enough for the whole town to hear.  We were out back helping Poppy and Petal celebrate their birthday oblivious to Lemon shouting out for help in the kitchen.

"Why didn't you call me?"
"I did but with all the racket going on obviously noone could hear me"

We had another girl who we called Lacey.  We still didn't get the boy that we wanted, but it would be nice for Larna to have a sister to play with.

The next day was Poppy, Petal and Crimson's graduation - quite a lot of things happened today.  The first surprise was Petal deciding to move out of ours and in with Mom, Pear and the twins.

It wasn't so much a surprise that Poppy and Crimson got engaged and as Petal moved out Crimson moved in with us.

Mom actually managed to turn up to the twins graduation, this really upset Mint as she never bothered to show up to his graduation.

The biggest shock of all was finding out that Crimson's Dad was also Lemons Dad.  Dad told me on the ride back home, Lemon and Crimson did not have a clue that they were half brother and sister!!!  Citrus was going to tell Lemon and Crimson when they got back to our house.

There was quite a bit of shouting coming from the hallway,  I could hear Lemon and Crimson they both sounded pretty upset.  The shouting didn't last for long, thankfully.  Once the initial shock had set in they all had a civil conversation.

Lemon seemed to be coping with the new revolation better than Crimson was.  I found out Crimson was over emotional, and it showed, he seemed to be the one most uspset by it all.  He was upset because he had a sister that he had never been told about - so he was upset in a good way.

Realising he was an uncle set him off again, I would hate to be over emotional and I am dreading the day he and Poppy get married, he will probably spend the whole day crying!!!

Things were a little awkward between Crimson and Lemon for a while, it was hard for them to get their head round the fact that they are brother and sister.  This was particularly hard for Lemon being an only child up till now. 

Both of our girls were having their birthday, with everything that had been going on and the up and coming wedding a birthday party for them had been pretty much over looked.  Parties in this house tend to come with some sort of drama, which everyone could do without at the moment!!!

So Larna became a child, and I think the poor kid is going to look like me.

It is just a good job that Lemons Dad turned up when he did really, otherwise we might have questioned where Lacey's hair colour came from.  Even though Rhubarb woud have known and told us, still it was quite a surprise.

Even though Dad had not been so bad with Lacey like he had been when Larna had been a baby, he was still hovering all the time and spent a lot more time with the two girls than any of us did.

The day of Poppy and Crimsons wedding rolled round.  Mom and Grandad Green were the first to arrive, only one of the twins came, no Pear and no Petal either which was pretty strange.  Why would Petal not turn up to her own twin sisters wedding??

I don't think Mom is still too impressed about Dad and Rhubarb but she did promise to behave today - now more arguements - yeah!!!  We will see!!

For once, there were no arguments and as a family we had quite a pretty good day, and Petal did turn up eventually, but only just in time to see her sister get married.

I got to speak to Apricot a little, I barely knew my half sisters, and even though Pear and Lime had been invited to the wedding, neither of them wanted to come.

Lemon had not properly met Leila her half sister until now.  Leila hadn't taken the news of Lemons existence as well as Crimson had, she being a daddies girl didn't like the idea of having a sister.  Apricot, my half sister and Leila, Lemons half sister are best mates, making the situation even more complicated and awkward.

The day went without any arguments, though, a miracle for this family and was completed by a visit from Grandad Marty's ghosts.  Its like he always knows when there is something going on as he always makes an appearance.

We decided to try for another baby, we still wanted that boy.

We are hoping it will be third time lucky.
